On June 6, D-Day, during an evening ceremony the Royal Canadian Legion # 242 in Barriere, 70 veterans were honoured at 6 p.m. at the Barriere cemetery with a candlelight vigil. The 128 battery operated candles flickered in remembrance as dusk fell.
