On June 4, Ladies Night at Chinook Cove was a test to see if the "fours"’ were with you. There were 35 ladies participating in the Ladies’ Night Full Fours evening.
Okay, enough with the puns. It was 4-Club Night at Chinook Cove on June 4, which means that you can only golf with 4-clubs. During a 4-club event all the rest of the clubs are left at home, in your car, or in the clubhouse if you’ve forgotten to leave the rest of the clubs in your bag. It’s a fun challenge, showing players how 4-clubs really affect your game.
The following winners did well during the 4-Club event:
Hole 1: Long drive for flight 1 went to Donna Salle and long drive for flight 2 went to Monica Lee.
Hole 2: Long drive for flight 3 went to Audrey Rilcoe and long drive for flight 4 went to Mary Martin.
Along with just 4-Clubs, we had an accuracy line on Hole 3. Three people put their name on the pin,, and it always surprises me when one person is that accurate, let alone three. Overall, the most accurate of the night was flight 4’s Glenda Feller.
With the accuracy line, there were two long putt pins on the green. Long putt for flight 1 went to Susan Newberry and long putt for flight 2 went to Emma Schilling.
Hole 4: We had four KP pins on Hole 4 and only two were claimed. KP for flight 1 went to Donna Salle and KP for flight 3 went to Deb Winiski.
Hole 5: Long putt for flight 3 went to Audrey Rilcoe and long putt for flight 4 went to Amanda Lampreau. History repeated itself.
Hole 6: We had four KP pins on Hole 6 and only two were claimed. KP for flight 3 went to Deb Winiski and KP in 2 for flight 4 went to Mary Martin.
Hole 7: Hole 7 is where the gully lies in wait to swallow golf balls. We had a lot of poor golf balls lost on June 4, but the ladies did win back a golf ball (or two).
The "Rest in Peace" ladies of the night were: Audrey Rilcoe, Linda Fournier (times two), Jeannie Webber, Theresa Robinson, Deb Winiski, Barb Smith, Evelyn Lucas, Kate Whitmore (times two), and Kayla Mosdell (times two). Also for Hole 7, KP in 2 for flights 1–2 went to Lori Chambers and KP in 2 for flights 3–4 went to Glenda Feller.
Hole 8: KP in 3 for flights 1–2 went to Terri Jones.
Hole 9: The last hole, Hole 9, there was a long putt for flights 3–4, and the winner was flight 3’s Evelyn Lucas.
The least putts went to Marian Wallace with 15, and the most putts went to Cathy McNeil with 26.
Flight 1: The low gross winner was Donna Salle with a score of 48 and the low net winner was Marian Wallace with a score of 36.5.
Flight 2: The low gross winner was Monica Lee with a score of 47 and the low net winner was Terri Jones with a score of 37.
Flight 3: The low gross winner was Deb Winiski with a score of 56 and the low net winner was Mary Vansickle with a score of 37.
Flight 4: The low gross winner was Jen Kerslake with a score of 49 and second low gross winner was Mary Martin with a score of 59. We had two chip-ins for the week. Flight 1’s Susan Newberry had a chip-in on Hole 8 and flight 2’s Lorie Chambers also had a chip-in on Hole 8 (the best hole to chip-in this week).
Un-four-tunately, that is all for this week. Everyone did amazing, as usual, and we hope to see everyone back next week.
Here's a fun golf slogan for this week: "Fore-get about work, it's golfing time!"
This week’s golf lingo: Airmail: A golf shot which travels a considerably longer distance than planned.
