Mounties and Search and Rescue bring sledder out unharmed after snowmobile broke down on Dec. 20

The annual Santa Skate at the North Thompson Sportsplex in Clearwater was a pleasure for all who attended. A large crowd turned out to the event including a number of folks from Darfield and the Barriere area as well. Santa and some of his elves where in attendance, both skating and providing a comfortable spot to chat with the youngsters. Free hot dogs and hot chocolate were available to all courtesy of Century 21 Rison Realty.

Barriere Secondary Senior Boys played some great basketball last weekend while hosting the Cougar Classic Basketball Tournament on home turf.

The regulation size outdoor hockey rink in Heffley Creek, located on Upper Lister Road (behind the school) is reportedly “iced up and ready for action”.

If you enjoy a good basketball game you might like to stop in at the Barriere Secondary gymnasium when the home teams are playing.

The Barriere Secondary athletics program has been fully engaged this fall, and can boast a strong year for their teams.
