Debbie Rainer was away on a holiday, but fortunately I survived with a little help from my friends. However, my golf game on July 16 did not. I had my worst outing of the season. Thank goodness the company was excellent. The weather was a bit threatening but on the whole the 38 ladies golfing managed to stay dry.

The first night of the season for youth golf took place at Chinook Cove Golf and RV Resort on July 8 with 20 young people signing up. Youth golfers are split into two age groups, 7 to 14 years, and 14 to 17. Pictured is Chinook Cove’s Susan Mitchell (center back) giving a few pointers to the young golfers and family members on the first night of youth golf.

Close is only good in horseshoes and hand grenades

The ladies in my foursome were the “Queens of Getting Close” on Tuesday night, July 2. Close to the green. Close to the hole. Close to being longest drive. Close to winning. And they say close is only good in horseshoes and hand grenades. But we were very good at laughing and having fun. Deb and I were even close to getting the paperwork and calculations all correct but….

Yes, you can get a prize for doing something wrong

You won’t believe this. We are almost half way through our Ladies Night schedule. I have been having such a good time and didn’t notice the weeks flying by. This past week on Tuesday, June 25, was our Four Club night. There is always much discussion among the 35 ladies about which clubs to pick with at least one being the putter. I know I must have mentioned a number of times that I thought I had brought the wrong ones but somehow I had my best game of the season so I guess I chose well.

Lady in the sand trap was a painful thing to watch

As I sit in my office on this very wet Thursday I am reflecting on the lovely weather we had for Ladies’ Night on Tuesday, June 18. Thirty-nine ladies turned out to take advantage. The Golf gods must have been smiling on us. We did get a light sprinkle and I do mean LIGHT. The temperature was perfect for golfing. Too bad my golfing wasn’t perfect for the temperature.

50 ladies hit the greens at Chinook Cove

The hot weather arrived in full force on Tuesday, May 28, and so did the ladies. Fifty of them showed up to golf a round, and most stayed to enjoy dinner and prizes on the patio. Debbie Rainer and I had a few hiccups with the paperwork, but all was forgiven by the end of the evening.
