I am slowly (and I mean slowly) acclimatizing myself to these warm temperatures. On Tuesday, July 6, the temp was in the mid-thirties and I still managed to survive my round of golf without melting. My score rose exponentially with the temperature so it was not a pretty total. I actually golfed my age and I am getting older ever day. I had the very dubious honour of winning the prize for most putts.

My team has a standing tee time of 4 p.m., and we decided at noon that we just weren’t going to make it in the heat. The truth is that Debbie and I decided at noon, but the other two had already decided on Sunday that they weren’t going to golf in the heat.

Another Ladies’ Night has come and gone. This season is passing by much too quickly. The skies had a threatening look on June 8, but the rain did not materialize. That makes me sad for the garden but happy for my golfing.
