North Thompson Communities Foundations hold annual barbecue to celebrate giving

The annual North Thompson Communities Foundation awareness barbecue held at the Barriere Forks Trail on Sunday, May 26 could not have had better weather if it had been specially ordered. Although the turnout was not as large as expected, those who did attend were treated to a lovely afternoon and a scrumptious meal with baked salmon, steak and black forest cake. Foundation chair Franz Friesinger MC’d the event, and entertainment was provided by Friesinger and musician Bill Fowler.

The first annual Poker Run held May 25, 2019, and hosted by the North Thompson Fish &Game Club Society turned out to be a great success. Organizers say they were extremely happy that the event “turned out better than planned”, with over 85 people in attendance.

Trevor Moore recognized on Barriere Secondary Wall of Distinction

Barriere Secondary’s Convocation Ceremonies on May 24, 2019, included a special presentation to past BSS graduate Trevor Moore. The Wall of Distinction award recognized Moore, who, after graduating from Barriere Secondary to become a helicopter pilot, then established a helicopter charter company called CC Helicopters.
