There is a lot to celebrate about Canada as the nation marks its 156th birthday on July 1.

Barriere Secondary School Graduation weekend parade was full of personality, fun and character - perfect for family and friends photo opps.

Documentary Film maker and District of Clearwater Councillor Ken Matheson is moved beyond words at the close of the Special Olympics in Berlin Germany. Matheson travelled to Berlin to film 27-year-old Ryan Kealey from Clearwater during the power-lifting events throughout the games. Matheson will be using all the film obtained for his upcoming documentary called ‘Beyond the Weights’, a personal journey of Ryan’s life and the challenges he’s faced along the way.

District of Barriere Mayor and Council Update

The Barriere and District Heritage Society will be hiring two students to assist them over the summer this year. Interviews are taking place now and the Museum will be opening for the season on July 4th.

During final full week of classes students were engaged in final projects, exams and graduation assessments. Classes continued to participate in the ParticipAction community challenge as they spent some time outside, when weather permitted.
