During final full week of classes students were engaged in final projects, exams and graduation assessments. Classes continued to participate in the ParticipAction community challenge as they spent some time outside, when weather permitted.
Some students participated in the Aboriginal Leadership Council event and the BSS Grads held the annual Grad Breakfast, where the grads cook for the whole school. Grads also participated in the annual Grad Walk at Barriere Elementary and the Mystery Tour where the grads spend the day together with a barbecue and games. Finally, we also recognized National Indigenous Peoples’ Day on June 21st.
Today we held the Grad rehearsal and tonight we will recognize the Graduating Class of 2023 at the Commencement. Doors open at 5:30 pm, the event starts at 6pm at the Curling Rink.
Looking ahead next week is that last week of school, the last full day of classes is Tuesday June 27th. Project Completion Days take place Wednesday June 28th and 29th. June 29th is an early dismissal at approximately 12:45. A reminder that all students, grade 7-12 are included in project completion days. Some students will be required to attend, based on work that needs to be completed to meet learning outcomes in certain courses. Some students may choose to attend to improve upon a previous content area. IF your child(ren) are required to attend, the classroom teacher will notify the parent/guardian. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher directly.
On Monday we will hold a locker clean-out. Please encourage your child(ren) to check the lost and found as well as looking around bedrooms and your home for any library books that need to be returned!
