A.J. Oullette rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown, as the unbeaten Saskatchewan Roughriders dumped the visiting B.C. Lions 37-18 in CFL action Saturday at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
Quarterback Jake Maier completed 13 of 23 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown for the Riders (4-0). Defensive back Tevaughn Campbell added an interception for a touchdown, receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby hauled in a TD, kicker Brett Lauther booted five field goals and two converts and punter Joe Couch had two long singles.
For the Lions (1-3), quarterback Jeremiah Masoli (filling in for injured starter Nathan Rourke), went 16-for-29 for 173 yards and found Keon Hatcher for a touchdown. Masoli also had three costly interceptions. Running back James Butler carried 17 times for 123 yards, a touchdown and a two-point convert for B.C. Kicker Sean Whyte added a field goal and a convert. The Leos have dropped three games in a row.

The Riders led 6-0 after the first quarter on a pair of Lauther field goals, from 34 and 48 yards.
In the second quarter, the Lions took the lead at 7-6 just over four minutes in when Masoli found Hatcher for a 15-yard touchdown, with Whyte converting.
Saskatchewan moved back in front 9-7 with another Lauther field goal.
With time running out and the Lions marching deep in Saskatchewan territory, the Riders’ Campbell picked off Masoli and took the interception back 89 yards for a touchdown. Lauther’s conversion made it 16-7 at the break.

The Riders used up 7:26 of clock on a 10-play, 69-yard opening drive in the third quarter, capped by Ouellette rushing for a nine-yard touchdown. A two-point conversion attempt failed and the Riders led 22-7.
Couch made it 23-7 with a 77-yard punt single with three-and-a-half minutes to play in the quarter.
With nine seconds left, B.C pulled within 23-10, having to settle for a 13-yard field goal after taking a penalty near the goal-line.
Another Couch single, this time from 74 yards, 1:10 into the quarter upped the lead to 24-10.
Rolan Milligan Jr. picked off another Masoli pass deep inside B.C. territory with just over six minutes to play, setting up a Lauther chip shot field goal from 11 yards out to make it 27-10 Riders.
On B.C.’s ensuring drive, Antoine Brooks Jr. picked off Masoli, again in Lions territory, for his first career interception. Maier quickly found Vancouver product Duncan-Busby for a 42-yard TD as the Riders went up 34-10.
Chase Brice replaced Masoli at QB as the game wound down and led the Lions on a touchdown drive, with Butler scoring on a four-yard run with 2:09 to go and adding a two-point conversion to make it 34-18.
Lauther rounded out the scoring with a 25-yard field goal with six seconds to play.
The Lions visit the Montreal Alouettes (4 p.m.) on July 5. The Roughriders host the Calgary Stampeders on July 11.
NOTES: Saskatchewan’s other three victories this year were decided in the final three minutes by seven points or less. Maier made his Saskatchewan debut after starter Trevor Harris was ruled out due to illness and head injury. The game was a rematch of last season’s Western semifinal, which Saskatchewan won 28-19… Coming into the game, Hatcher led the CFL with 294 receiving yards on 14 catches and 26 targets through three games.
