George Harrison once sang “Here comes the sun!” Well, the sun could tone it down a little bit. It is crazy to golf in 40 C weather, but for the 22 ladies who did, golf wasn't so bad this past week. Everybody stayed hydrated and nobody fainted. I call that a win. Actually, a lot of ladies did very well considering the scorching heat.
Hole 1: Long drive in 2, Flight 1 went to Monica Lee and long drive in 2, Flight 2 was unclaimed.
Hole 2: Long drive in 2, Flight 3 went to Evelyn Lucas and long drive in 2, Flight 4 went to Betty Foote.
Hole 3: We had a long putt pin open to all four flights, and Flight 4’s Christina Campbell won long putt.
Hole 4: Only had one lady get a KP on hole 4. Flight 2’s Debbie Legaree was about a foot away from the flagpole!
Hole 5: This was the time to show off your long drives. Long drive, Flight 1 went to Monica Lee. Long drive, Flight 2 went unclaimed. Long drive, Flight 3 went to Nicole Huber. Long drive, Flight 4 went to Amanda Summers.
Hole 6: Again, only one lady got a KP on hole 6. Certain trends are ongoing. Flight 1’s Monica Lee got a KP.
Hole 7: KP in 2, split between flights 1 and 2, went to Flight 2’s Debbie Legaree. Again, about a foot away from the flagpole. KP in 2, split between flights 3 and 4, went to Flight 4’s Christina Campbell.
Hole 8: Long putt, Flight 4 went to Christina Campbell.
Hole 9: On the last hole, we had a pin on the green for a long putt open to all flights. The long putt winner of hole 9 was Flight 2’s Hailey Cocker.
Least number of putts went to Debbie Legaree, by retro, with 16 putts. Most number of putts went to Wanda Amos, by retro, with 23 putts.
Now, on to all our lovely flight winners.
Flight 1: Low gross went to Monica Lee with a score of 44. There were no other Flight 1 ladies this week to win low net.
Flight 2: Low gross went to Hailey Cocker with a score of 50, and low net went to Laurie Hawley with a score of 34.5.
Flight 3: Low gross went to Cathy Paul with a score of 53, and low net went to Jamie Mosdell, by retro, with a score of 34.5.
Flight 4: Low gross went to Christina Campbell with a score of 52, and second low gross went to Amanda Summers with a score of 56.
Even with our smaller crowd, that doesn’t affect the amount of pot winners, apparently, and we had four pot winners this week. For Flight 1, Monica Lee had a chip-in. For Flight 2, Debbie Legaree had a birdie. For Flight 4, Christina Campbell had a birdie and Amanda Summers had a chip-in.
