Another season is in swing for Chinook Cove Ladies Golf just outside of Barriere.

No bears out on the golf course this time! The only dramatic thing that happened while golfing was the weather. Every hole felt like a different climate, blazing sun that made you want to wear shorts and sunglasses, chilling wind that made you put on an extra layer, and rain to top it off.

But, the weather doesn't get in the way of us ladies. Everyone golfed very well, even if they said differently, and a lot of good scores were handed-into Terri Jones. So, without further ado, let's get started.

Hole 1: Long putt, split between Flights 3 and 4, went to Flight 4's Rose Seymour.

Hole 2: Long putt, split between Flights 1 and 2, went to Flight 1's Susan Mitchell.

Hole 3: Long drive, for Flight 3, went to Karina Scott and long drive, for Flight 4, went to Nicole Pickersgill.

Hole 4: Only two ladies got KPs on Hole 4. KP, Flight 1, went to Susan Newberry and KP, for Flight 3, went to Nicole Huber.

Hole 5: Long drive, Flight 1, went to Louise Lodge. Long drive, Flight 2, went to Brandon Rose. Long drive, Flight 3, went to Carmel Dorish. Long drive, Flight 4, went to Zarina Mitchell.

Hole 6: Now, for hole 6, we had two ladies get KPs. The trend continues. KP, Flight 1, went to Kelly Van Genne and KP in 2, Flight 4, went to Melissa Bourne.

Hole 7: KP in 2, split between Flights 1 and 2, went to Flight 1's Louise Lodge. KP in 2, split between Flights 3 and 4, went to Flight 3's Leslie Stirling.

Hole 8: Long drive, for Flight 1, went to Marian Wallace and long drive, for Flight 2, went unclaimed this week.

Hole 9: Closest to the 150 marker - any hit, for Flight 4, went to Rose Seymour.

Least number of putts went to Cathy Paul with a score of 13 and most number of putts went to Zarina Mitchell with a score of 26.

Alright, onto our Flight winners.

Flight 1: Low gross went to Louise Lodge with a score of 41 and low net went to Kelly Van Genne with a score of 36.

Flight 2: Low gross went to Brandon Rose with a score of 54 and low net went to Cathy Paul with a score of 39.5.

Flight 3: low gross went to Carmel Dorish with a score of 53 and low net went to Leslie Stirling with a score of 33.5.

Flight 4: Low gross went to Mary Martin with a score of 53 and second low gross went to Alexia Smith with a score of 59. I was told it was Alexia's first ever golf game, and by the looks of it, she has a prospective career in golf! At least until the gully starts eating her golf balls…

To end this article on another high note, Flight 3 ladies really made a stand. Nicole Huber got a deuce and Karina Scott got a chip-in.

Well, that's it until next week, see everyone on the course!

Golf Speak: Platypus: Hitting the ball out of bounds and still making par.
