Hello everyone. Ladies Night at Chinook Cove is officially back for the 2025 season. It's been a while since I last wrote for the paper, I had to thoroughly dust off my keyboard.
After planning and organizing this ladies night for weeks, I have to say, the night was a success. Many familiar and new faces were all ready to golf. I was a little nervous at first, trying to remember how to run Ladies Night, but everyone was patient and in good spirits. All the ladies were just happy to be out golfing with their friends again. Well, maybe the wine had something to do with it….
So, I am sure everyone wants to know who are the winners of the first Ladies Night. Let's get started.
For hole 1, we had two long drive pins. Long drive, flight 1, went to Marian Wallace and long drive, flight 2, went to Debbie Rainer.
Hole 2 also had two long drive pins. Long drive, flight 3, went to Leslie Stirling and long drive, flight 4, went to Rita Mosdell.
Every lady had to test their accuracy on hole 3 and Wanda Amos took the throne as the most accurate lady of the night. Along with accuracy, we had two long putt pins on hole 3. Long putt, flight 1, went to Susan Newberry and long putt, flight 2, went to Debbie Rainer.
Our first round of KPs begins on hole 4.
KP for flight 1 went to Susan Newberry, KP for flight 2 went to Babes Shanko, KP for flight 3 went to Kate Schilling, and KP for flight 4 went to Wanda Amos.
Hole 5 had two long putt pins. Long putt, flight 3, went to Anita Hill and long putt, flight 4, went to Rose Seymour.
The last round of KPs on hole 6. KP for flight 1 went to Susan Newberry and KP for flight 4 went to Barb Smith.
Now, let us take a minute to remember all the balls that were lost to the gully on hole 7. Rose Seymour, Betty Foote x2, Dawn Eustache, Melissa Bourne, Barb Smith x2, Darlene Nickull x2, Ashley MacDougall, and Heidi Schilling. Your balls shall not be forgotten.
And, we had one lady get a KP in 2 on hole 7: flight 1's Marian Wallace.
No winners on hole 8.
Hole 9's long putt, for flights 3 and 4, went to flight 4's Rita Mosdell.
I had to do two tiebreakers for least and most putts. But in the end, Debbie Rainer got least putts with 15 and Melissa Bourne got most putts with 28.
Onto flight winners. Flight 1: low gross went to Susan Newberry with a score of 49. Low net went to Donna Salle with a score of 37.5. Flight 2: low gross went to Debbie Rainer with a score of 50. Low net went to Babes Shanko with a score of 39. Flight 3: low gross went to Emma Schilling with a score of 54. Low net went to Leslie Stirling with a score of 36. Flight 4: low gross went to Jean Webber with a score of 58. Second low gross was also a tie, and Lindsay Allan won with a score of 62. To end the night, flight 3's Suzanne Price had a chip in on hole 2.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported the first Ladies Night. Also, thank you to everyone who pitched in that gave me the extra support to make sure Ladies Night went smoothly.
See you on Tuesday!
