Just two seasons into his NHL career, Kamloops product Logan Stankoven has secured his future with the Carolina Hurricanes.
On Tuesday, July 1, the 22-year-old forward signed an eight-year contract extension with Carolina worth $48 million ($6 million per season).
The former Kamloops Blazer was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round (47th overall) in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
After parts of two seasons in Dallas, the Stars traded Stankoven to Carolina on March 7, 2025.
He's played in 102 career games, scoring 20 goals and adding 32 assists.
His new contract begins at the start of the 2026-27 season.
