Barriere Curling Club hosts annual Jam Can for Little Rock Curlers

The Barriere Curling Club held their annual Jam Can with 16 Little Rock’s curlers participating in the two-day event

The Barriere Curling Club (BCC) held their annual Jam Can with 16 Little Rock’s curlers participating in the two-day event. The first game took place Friday, March 14 after school and the evening ended with a tasty spaghetti dinner put on by curling club volunteers.

“All of the team members participated in the Little Rock’s After School Program as part of the 2024-25 curling season. The teams demonstrated their skills of accuracy, rock weight, sweeping strength and game strategy. Many of the curlers have participated in the program for years and the quality of the games reflected this. Draws, bumper shots, take outs and draws to the button were all demonstrated. The games were tight with many games going down to the last rock,” said Bernice Randrup, BCC director.

Randrup said the teams demonstrated sportsmanship and curling etiquette throughout the events.

“Parents and grandparents were entertained and proud of the children’s achievements. Everyone left well fed, with awards and goodie bags. The BCC coaches of Jeannie Webber, Evelyn Pilatzke, Theresa Robinson, Glenn Evans and Terry Corley delivered the coaching and umpiring during the event. Thank you for your hard work delivering this program.”
