Healthy Beginnings kids in Barriere make turkeys for Thanksgiving

Barriere Healthy Beginnings children with some of the parents proudly show off the turkeys that the youngsters made on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Healthy Beginnings is a weekly open drop in group for parents and caregivers of children aged birth to six years. It is held every Wednesday at The Ridge in Barriere from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Monthy Bingo supports After School Program in Barriere

On the first Friday of every month the North Thompson Activity Centre hosts a fundraising Bingo at the Barriere Seniors Hall. The event is an ongoing fundraiser for the Centre’s After School Program held on school days at The Ridge. Last Friday’s Bingo saw 78 people attending and raised approximately $900 for the Program. Bingo spokesperson, Judy Armstrong, noted that at each Bingo the Senior’s Society cook up a different meal in their hall’s kitchen, so that when the doors open at 5:30 p.m.
