The Anahim Lake RCMP were called to a residence near Nimpo Lake on Monday, Dec. 30
Mounties are investigating a death at Nimpo Lake, 300 km west of Williams Lake, and have one suspect in custody.
On the evening of Monday, December 30, 2024 Anahim Lake RCMP were called to a residence near Nimpo Lake for a report of a fight, noted North District RCMP in a release.
"Upon police arrival, a 26-year-old local male resident was found in medical distress suffering from stab wounds. EHS and police performed life saving measures, however the man succumbed to his injuries. A 22-year-old Nimpo Lake resident, known to the victim, was arrested without incident and is currently in custody."
Police also said they believe it was a targeted incident.
"There is no risk to the public," said Anahim Lake RCMP Acting Sgt. Detachment Commander C.A. Antonescu, Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 31.
The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit is doing the investigation and are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Anahim Lake RCMP Detachment at (250) 742-3211.
