Like many businesses and organizations, COVID 19 hit the Courtenay and District Fish and Game Protective Association like a silent hurricane and left some damage in its wake.

All community events were cancelled; including our Banquet Fundraiser and the Outdoor Show.

The Courtenay and District Fish and Game Protective Association members are pleased to say that business is back to normal. All the facilities and programs are operating, and members enjoy archery, black powder, cowboy action, sporting clays, 5-stand, trap and skeet shooting, and a new Practical Pistol shooting program.

Archery is once again hosting an Open House on the first Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for those interested in trying the sport. Check the website calendar for holiday exceptions.

One of the first community events coming up on 25 May 2025 is our Spring Gun Show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the main hall. Entry fee is $5 for men 18 and over and free for ladies and youth 17 and under. Breakfast and lunch will be available. Come on out and see the many tables displaying sporting and hunting firearms and accessory equipment for buy, sell or trade!

The Fishing Forever Program (for seniors and challenged) and the BC Family Fishing Weekend event will be back in June for the community to enjoy some trout fishing in the pond.  The community is invited on Fathers Day weekend 14 and 15 June, for the Annual B.C. Family Fishing Weekend. Check the Events page on courtenayfishandgame.org

On Sunday, June 1 we will be holding an Open House/Range Day! This is a start up smaller version of the previously known Outdoor Recreation Show that was last held in 2019. The day runs from 9am to 4pm with no entry fee; but we ask for non-perishable goods for the Comox Valley Food Bank. Visitors will be able to try various shooting sports and  archery (for a fee), and visit the new hatchery.

We have a few local exhibitors for the public to meet and greet. Food and beverage will be available. Best to bring cash as there is no ATM.

We hope to see you at some of our community events! We do ask that dogs, other than certified, be kept at home and not in vehicles at the show. We will have exhibit dogs on site and hopefully a lot of families on the grounds.
