B.C. Water Sustainability Act regulations amended

VICTORIA - Minor amendments are being made to two regulations under the Water Sustainability Act to support existing groundwater users and clarify requirements for authorizing water use.

The number of impaired driving fatalities has dropped significantly since the Counter Attack campaign started in 1977. In the 1970s an average of more than 300 people died each year as a result of impaired driving. By 2017 that average had dropped to 65 people. That’s an 80 per cent decrease, but it’s still not enough because impaired driving is 100 per cent preventable.

The “basics” will always be taught. Years ago, when many of us went to school, classrooms were all about the “three Rs”: reading, writing and arithmetic. Some people today seem to pine for those days and want to see a return to this kind of teaching. The fact is, however, the “basics” have never left our classrooms and will continue to be a key part of the learning experience for all students.
