The Lower North Thompson Community Forest Society (LNTCFS) was presented with the Robin Hood Memorial Award for Excellence in Community Forestry by Doug Donaldson, Minister of Forests Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development during the 2018 BC Community Forest Association (BCCFA) Conference, held May 24-26, in Burns Lake, and hosted by the Burns Lake, Chinook and Cheslatta Community Forests.

So I spent the last day recovering from The Big Barriere Block Party 3 and the subsequent after party, and now it is time to reflect and thank a few people.

New leadership celebrated at ceremony that took place in Chu Chua on May 31

Bringing horsemen and their horses together for three days of learning, camaraderie and entertainment was what the Back Country Horsemen of BC Rendezvous at the North Thompson Fall Fair facility in Barriere was all about last weekend. Horsemen came from all over the province to join together for a memorable weekend filled with people of like mind – horses, environmental stewardship, trail building, leaving no trace, … and fun.
