Thank you to Jill Hayward and the Star/Journal for the great coverage of the presentation of the Life Quilt for the Honorable Judith Guichon. It was a pleasure and honour for Overlander WI to have a great representation for their annual Rural Women’s Tea at Hefflely Creek Hall. Thanks to all those that attended or donated to the event and plans are already in the works for next year.

It was a nice day for a parade, cool, dry and not too windy. Two RCMP officers in their Red Serge led the way, with the Legion flag-bearers and veterans following, and the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Ambassador Taylor Johnson at the rear.

Bill Kershaw elected vice-chair of Thompson Nicola Regional District

Barriere resident Bill Kershaw was re-elected in October as the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Area “O” director, serving the Lower North Thompson region, which includes communities from Little Fort south. Kershaw is no stranger to the job, having already served a number of terms in that position. Most recently Kershaw was also elected to serve as the vicechair of the TNRD board of directors under newly elected chair Ken Gillis from Electoral Area “L” Grasslands.
