Victoria's Beacon Hill Children's Farm celebrates four decades

The petting zoo opened in 1985

Forty years after its 1985 opening, the Beacon Hill Children's farm still stands as one of Greater Victoria's most integral attractions.

On Thursday, June 12, the farm held their 40th anniversary celebrations, celebrating four decades of providing countless smiles and furry cuddles.

Owners and staff at the downtown Victoria petting zoo invited the city to come along and help celebrate “being a cherished community space – a haven for animals, and a place where people of all ages learn, connect and enjoy a piece of farm life in the city.”

The day-long June 12 celebration included activities for all ages such like a scavenger hunt, stamp books, colouring pages, story time, farm photo displays and fascinating animal talks.
