The Little Fort Ferry is not operating in both directions Thursday, April 3.

DriveBC said it will provide an update Friday at 6 a.m.

The Ministry of Transportation confirmed the closure is due to crewing issues.

While the Ministry of Transportation and Transit has no role in the day-to-day operations of the vessel, a spokesperson noted the contractor, Argo Road Maintenance (Thompson) Inc., is responsible to crew vessels under the Highways Maintenance Service Agreements.

When the ferry runs it has capacity for two vehicles and 12 passengers and operates on demand 7 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. according to the B.C. Government website.
