Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Ward Stamer awarded Lions lifetime membership

Long-time Barriere Lions member, former Barriere mayor and current provincial MLA for Kamloops-North Thompson Ward Stamer was honoured with the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award presented to him on June 20, during the annual wind up at the Lions hall. 

"I'm humbled to receive this award from an organization that I have served for so many years and will continue to be involved locally whenever possible," Stamer told  he Barriere Star / Journal. "Receiving the Lifetime Member Award is a great honour."

Stamer said he has been a Lions member for 36 years serving as the past president, secretary, zone chairman and past bar chairman for 20 plus years. 

"I'm looking forward to coming back home to help as usual for the three days of the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo with our 'world famous' Lions pancake breakfast," he added with a smile.
