Cement truck flips on Barkerville Highway

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital by firefighters and RCMP

A cement truck flipped on its side Tuesday (July 16) morning in a single-vehicle crash around 8:30 a.m. coming off Barkerville Highway onto Cariboo Highway.

Quesnel RCMP, Quesnel Fire Department and Barlow Creek Fire Department all attended the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital by RCMP and firefighters. No ambulances attended the scene. The driver appeared to be the only person injured.

The flipped truck leaked oil and water which was cleaned up by first responders. The truck did not appear to be leaking cement onto the road. The incident caused one lane of Barkerville Highway to be temporarily closed and traffic was alternating while first responders were on the scene and removing the truck from the road.
