Barriere’s Elli Kohnert says she no longer has a car for transportation, but instead she has the next best thing for a senior who is well into her 80’s. Kohnert now enjoys “scooting around town” on a much smaller vehicle which she says “took a bit of getting used to, but I’ve got it figured out now”.

Drought tolerant gardening is the focus for the annual Barriere Blooms contest which is focusing on encouraging District of Barriere gardeners to plant drought tolerant plants into their flower beds and garden containers.
