4-H Reporter Eva-Mae Ekins and 4-H President, Jeff Fennell present a cheque for $640 from the Yellowhead 4-H Club to Barriere Lions member, Dennis Farquharson in January 2024.

The Yellowhead 4-H Club has started again. Their first meeting was on Jan. 7, 2024 for returning members and members voted on the new executive. The new president is Jeff Fennell, the vice-president is Isabella MacDougall, the secretary is Chloe Smith, the treasurer is Ryenne Woods and the new reporter is Eva-Mae Ekins.

The 4-H club had a second meeting for new members on Jan. 14.

This year the 4-H club has over 50 members. The projects in the club are photography, rabbit/cavy, goat, horse, sheep and beef. We are excited to have a new project in the club and it is small engines.

In January, the club and its members donated $640 to the Lions Club in appreciation for what they do for our club and community.

Jeff Fennell has been awarded an international travel opportunity through the 4-H program. He is going to travel to Ireland in May to learn about agriculture in this country. Chloe Smith has been named an alternate. Congratulations to both members.

Watch for the club’s annual flower and vegetable plant sale coming this spring.
