Suspicious behaviour
On Dec. 24, Barriere RCMP received a call from a resident stating that they had observed a male with a newer white SUV on Oriole Way trying a truck’s door handle.
The man then slowly walked back to his vehicle and left, driving towards Highway 5. The man was by himself, and the only description was that he was tall and balding.
No licence plate number was obtained.
Patrols by Barriere RCMP were negative, and police did not receive any further calls regarding the incident.
Suspicious vehicle
On Jan. 3, Barriere RCMP were dispatched after receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle.
The complainant advised that a Toyota 4Runner was parked in back of an apartment complex, and when the Alberta licence plate number was run it was reported as stolen, and did not match the vehicle.
The VIN (vehicle identification number) on the 4Runner matched that of a stolen Toyota 4Runner out of Ridge Meadows. The interior of the vehicle was extremely dirty/muddy.
The vehicle was towed and will be returned to the registered owner.
