The North Thompson Activity Centre Society was presented with a cheque for $2881.25 from the Royal Canadian Legion #242 in Barriere on February 22 to support youth activities in the area.

"The North Thompson Activity Centre Society wants to thank the Royal Canadian Legion in Barriere for the generous donation which will go towards our Teen Scene program. This donation goes to activities we host for the youth in our community," said NTACS Program manager Judy Armstrong, "It is because of donations like this we are able to run this free program every Friday night for the teens in this community."

Mathew Poore is the Teen Scene facilitator for the District of Barriere which sponsors a regular evening of fun for kids from 12 - 18 years old at ‘The Ridge’ in the District of Barriere building.

If you are a teen or a parent of a teen you can check out the Barriere Happenings group on Facebook for regular notices about Teen Scene at ‘The Ridge’ in Barriere on Friday nights. The only time the Teen Scene cancels would be if a volunteer can’t make it, so if you are a parent and would like to volunteer please contact Judy Armstrong at: 250-299-5237 or the Activity Centre: 250-672-0033 and via email: getactiveinbarriere@gmail.com
