Seven teams took part in the 2022 Inland Draft and Teamster Association (IDTA) event, coming from Barriere, 100 Mile, Westwold, Salmon Arm, Sorrento, Little Fort, Chu Chua, as well as a rookie driver from Bridge Lake. All who took part enjoyed the full day of events and the delicious meal that followed.

IDTA rep Melanie Stutt reported the event was made possible thanks to a grant from the Lower North Thompson Community Forest Society.

Stutt noted that many of the teamsters and their teams will be returning to the fairgrounds in Barriere later in the year when the annual North Thompson Fall Fair and BCRA Rodeo Finals take place on the Labour Day weekend in September. The Heavy Horse Division at the fair will feature driving classes from single hitch to four-up, log skid, halter classes, the exciting heavy horse pull, and many will also be participating in the Saturday morning Fall Fair Parade.
