A chance to explore the nature, trails and beauty of our backyard is on track.
Allan Brooks Nature Centre (ABNC) is used to sharing the joy of discovery at the nature site.
But now the centre is extending its love of exploration during Hike, Dine, Discover play dates on July 6 and Aug. 10 at SilverStar Mountain Resort.
"Living in the beautiful Okanagan, I get to see the beauty of our surroundings every day," said Cheryl Hood, ABNC executive director. "I'm thrilled to announce our partnership with SilverStar Mountain Resort for the nature hikes. Join us and experience the expertise of ABNC's staff as they guide you along the Attridge trail, where you can discover nature at its best. It's an experience you definitely shouldn't miss!"
Providing curated trail guiding is part of Calista Foisy's work at ABNC. Foisy, acting coordinator of program education at ABNC, is committed to promoting enjoyment of nature. She ensures any walk or hike is enhanced by awareness of the habitat.
She will be guiding during the hikes along the Attridge trail.
"Personally, as an educator, I love to be able to share environmental knowledge with as many people as possible. Together, on July 6 or Aug. 10, we will embark on a beautiful scenic hike at the top of SilverStar, where we will learn about the flora and fauna that is unique to this subalpine ecosystem," said Foisy.
Having already enjoyed a gondola ride to the summit and having engaged all your senses as you hike the scenic Attridge trail, the refreshing outdoor experience will culminate with a casual lunch at the Red Antler.
Here, tales of the mountain's history will be shared by Silver Star Museum volunteers.
Additionally, each participant will receive a $20 Silver Star gift card - use it for lunch or wherever you wish.
