Ladies Golf Night at Chinook Cove Golf as of June 28 is now at the halfway point. Can you believe we are almost half way through our 2022 Ladies Golf Night season. We started with 21 Tuesdays and have only 11 left. I only wish the winter months would go by as quickly.

Deb, Donna and I had a lovely round On Tuesday, with good weather and no rain. Some of the other ladies could not say the same thing as a few got totally inundated.

There were plenty of pot winners. Theresa Young and Marian Wallace split the birdie pot for Flight 1 while Ilke Marais kept the Flight 2 birdie pot all to herself. Doreen Landry and Lorie Chambers shared the Flight 2 Deuce pot. Chip in pots for Flight 4 went to Wanda Amos and Cathy Chornlesky while Audrey Rilcoe kept the Flight 3 pot.

The Gross/Net sponsors this week were Ainsley Gullage of Sun Life Financial, Kelly McNabney of TriPeaks Physio, the Smiths (Barb and Carman) and Quality Contractors. Donna Salle was the gross winner in Flight 1 with a score of 45 (by Retro) with Theresa Meger picking up low net with the same score (36). Babes Shanko scored 48 to win Flight 2 low gross and Doreen Landry scored a 50 (32.5) to win low net. In Flight 3 Audrey Rilcoe took low gross with a 53 and Deb Winiski was closed behind with a 54 (35) to win low net. Low gross in Flight 4 was Betty Foote with a 62 and Rose Seymour followed close behind to win second low gross with a 63.

Marian Wallace (Salle Ranch) and Babes Shanko (Thompson Valley Awards) had a KPs in 3 on Hole 1. Hole 2 saw Linda Ransome (AG Foods) and Cathy Chornlesky (Armour Mountain Office) with long drives and Susan Newberry (Barriere Motor Inn) with a long putt. The accuracy award from Barriere Timber Mart went to Linda Ransome. KPs on Hole 4 went to Donna Salle (Cindy Leibel Realtor), Doreen Landry (MJB Lawyer) and Christina Campbell (Stamer Logging). Hole 5 long putts were made by Jeannie Webber (Little Fort Subway) and Lorie Chambers (Munro’s Clothing). Hole 6 KPs went to Doreen Landry (Brian and Brenda Carl) and Deb Winiski (Campbell & Co.). Judi Klontz (EBL Ventures) had a KP in 2 on Hole 6 and Theresa Young (HUB International) had one on Hole 7. North Thompson Funeral Services provided balls to a number of ladies on Hole 7. Deb Winiski (Rainer Custom Cutting) had a long drive on Hole 8 and Ilke Marais (Station House Restaurant) had a long drive on Hole 9. Leslie Stirling managed to finally sink a decent putt on Hole 9 to win the gift certificate from Sam’s Pizza. Jeannie Webber won least putts (13) by retro and Kate Schilling took the most putts prize (26).

Our July Fun Night is quickly approaching. The date is July 19 and it will be a shot gun start. The number of teams is limited so please sign up early (it also lets the cooks know how many to cook for). The cost is $50 for folks who haven’t paid the annual green fees and $35 for those who have. The cost includes golf, cart, a meal and prizes. The theme is the Wedding Party. I guess I will come as a wedding commissioner.

See you at the course.
