An organizer of a local event (complainant) received an email from another local organization stating they had an outstanding invoice. The amount of $1,000 was immediately sent to matthewez20@outlook.com. After the completed transfer, the sender of the money was further asked for the etransfer receipt which was odd. The complainant contacted who they thought the recipient of the money was and were informed that they have been hacked. The hackers then emailed regarding an outstanding invoice and received the money.
