The Big Barriere Block Party held on Saturday, June 10, in Fadear Park proved once again that when it comes to community support and volunteerism this small rural town knows how to get the job done.
Event co-organizers Ashley Wohlgemuth and Charlie Kibble put together a team that cared, and the results of their efforts were shown by the success of the event.
Even the weather cooperated, although overcast and threatening rain, the showers stayed away and the people came out.
Entertainers Chloé Beauchamp-Brisson, Jeremy Kneeshaw, Matt Bond, Cal May, Dustin Doherty, Hannah Jessica Lynne, Tyler Hall Chevrefils, the Bees and The Bare Bones, and feature performer Jaydee Bixby and his band kept the music flowing and the approval rate at the top.
Vendors, concessions, games, bouncy castles and first class entertainment were the order of the afternoon and evening. Entry was by donation, and all profits made were earmarked for the North Thompson Volunteer and Information Centre.
