Barriere Secondary’s Senior Boys Basketball Coach Travis Repka reports BSS Basketball is still underway.
“The Grade 8 girls placed third in cities!,” said Repka, “They beat big schools such as Westsyde, Brock, and Valleyview as the season went along.”
Most exciting is the news that the BSS Senior Boys Team placed second in the Okanagan Valley Championships, which earns them a berth at Provincials in Langley, being played March 9-12.
“They were the six seed in the tournament and beat the number two and three seeded teams to clinch their sport,” reported the coach.
A fundraiser drive thru spaghetti dinner was organized to help get the team to the Provincials, with tickets quickly selling out in record time.
“Thank all the volunteer coaches who donate their time so that our kids have the opportunity to play the sport they love,” say Barriere Secondary Athletics. “Go Cougars Go!”
