On Saturday, Sept. 23, a server at a local restaurant called the Barriere RCMP to report a dine and dash that just took place. Four males ordered food worth $100 and later one by one disappeared until only one person was left.

The male claimed he did not have any money to pay and was allowed to leave after providing a driver’s license. The person on the driver’s license looked very different to the suspect which did not appear to be local. Members patrolled through town but could not locate the suspects.

On Monday, Sept. 25 a complainant reported two horses walking on and off Barriere Lakes Road. The caller was concerned the horses could get hit by a car.

Members located the horses near the Barriere Lakes eco rock piles. He was able to interact with horses from the opposite side of a fence. The property owner did not know the horses and assisted members with securing them to fence posts.

A post was made to Facebook to make the owner aware and the horses were permitted to remain secured to the fence line until an owner was located.
