The Barriere Lions have inducted four new members on Feb. 21 to the local organization known for assisting those in need and hosting many community events throughout the year. The Barriere Lions Club announced the induction of four new members at its Mexican-themed dinner on Feb. 21 at the Lions Hall in Barriere.

New members, Mike McCarthy, Brent Hamblin, Debbie Sherman and Murray Bird joined the local Lions team to help serve the Barriere community. Longtime Barriere Lion and Mayor Ward Stamer, and club president Dennis Farquharson were part of the cermonies to induct the newest members in front of many club members and spouses at this celebratory evening.

“It is wonderful to welcome these new members to our team. Now that we are pretty much out the back end of the pandemic, our club is working to grow our membership, in order to serve our community at a greater level,” said Farquharson.

The Barriere Lions Club works hard but also has fun while bettering the local community and beyond.

The Lions host many events and offer support to other community groups assisting in partnership while continuing to build and maintain infrastructure.

The organization is known for supporting citizens in need while contributing in a variety of ways throughout the community.

The club is always on the lookout for those who would like to help in the community and be part of an active and fun group of volunteers.
