Dear Parents and Guardians,
Spring is in full bloom, and with it comes a season of growth, learning, and fresh opportunities. As we move into April, I want to take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication of our students, staff and families. Your ongoing support continues to make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow.
As the great educator John Dewey once said, "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." This month, let’s encourage our children to embrace every learning opportunity with curiosity and enthusiasm.
We are also transitioning from basketball season into track and field, an exciting time for our students to develop new skills, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors. We look forward to seeing their enthusiasm and participation!
Important Dates for April:
Easter Break will take place from April 18 to April 21. School will resume on April 22.
On April 28, there will be a Pro-D Day, and school will be closed for students.
April 18 – Good Friday – no school
April 21 – Easter Monday, no school
April 28 – Inservice Day – no school
May 7 – School Track and Field Day
May 16 – Non-Instructional Day – no school
May 19 – Victoria Day – no school
May 20 – Zone Track and Field Day
May 29 – District Track and Field Day
June 4-6 – Eagle Bay Trip Gr 6s
June 26 – last day of school, year end awards, early dismissal
Please remember that the cut off date for the new Hot Lunch program
( April 15-June 28, 2025) is Tuesday, April 8th 2025! Please pay online at sd73.schoolcashonline.com
Check in at the office
If your child is arriving late, please ensure they check in at the office—either by informing Mrs. Migl or signing into the binder on the front counter. This also applies to students marked late or absent through the Safe Arrival program. Checking in allows us to update our system, changing the absence to a late arrival.
