Sunday, Sept. 13th was the annual Chinook Cove Ladies’ Golf Championship. The rest of my regular foursome was up to other things so I golfed with two ladies that I don’t usually golf with. Thanks to Deb Legaree and Doreen Landry, I had a wonderful time - chatting and telling jokes and laughing, laughing, laughing. And although I didn’t golf well let me tell you, I looked good in my new golf shirt (thanks Susan).

The weather was perfect apart from the smoky skies. Fourteen ladies took part and when the dust settled Janice Advent was the low gross winner with a score of 91 and Anita Hill took home the low net prize with a gross score of 114 and a net score of 75.

We each had two chances to put our name on each pin and some were lucky enough to take home some money for their efforts. In Flight 1, Susan Newberry had the Long Drive on Hole 1 while Marian Wallace had the Long Drive in 2 on Hole 2 and the Long Drive on Home 9. Doreen Landry dominated the drives for Flight 2, winning Long Drives on Hole 1 and 9 as well as the Long Drive in 2 on Hole 2. Long Putts were spread between Leanna Layton, Janice Advent and Deb Legaree. Leslie Stirling came closest to the pin (KP) on Hole 4 and Susan Mitchell came closest on Hole 6. Susan also won the KP in 2 on Hole 7.

A delicious early supper was served on the patio following the 18 holes to complete a great day.
