North Thompson Community Foundation Voices - Chair's holiday message

The North Thompson Community Foundation chair, Louise Lodge shares her holiday message and vision for 2025 in this week's Foundation Voices column.

Chair Louise Lodge's Holiday Message

On behalf of the North Thompson Communities Foundation, we would like to wish the communities and residents of the North Thompson Valley a very Merry Christmas, safe holiday and all the best in 2025.

2024 was a good year for the North Thompson Communities Foundation.

  • Directors attended workshops and seminars in-person and on-line
  • We developed a Legacy Giving brochure
  • We participated in the Barriere Block Party - 50/50
  • We hosted the Ed Peekektoot concert
  • We gave our first North Thompson Communities Foundation Bursaries to a Barriere and Clearwater graduate
  • We participated in Giving Tuesday on December 3 to increase our Bursary Fund (raised over $2000)
  • We gained a new director

However, we are looking bright for 2025. We are planning on updating and revamping our website, increasing our foundation visibility by partnering with ronaldomanosa, creating ads and a bi-weekly Foundation Voices column, planning to have some fundraisers and campaigns to increase our funds, adding more directors, and possibly hiring a Fund Development Officer - all so we can continue to support our communities from McLure to Blue River.

Donating to the North Thompson Communities Foundation is a way you can support local charities and organizations. You can make a difference in your community. Check out our website to learn more at www.ntcommunitiesfoundation.com.

If you are looking to volunteer, join our team - it is rewarding to be part of an organization that supports the communities you live in. Contact us at ntcommunitiesfoundation@gmail.com for more information.

Happy Holidays!
