The North Okanagan Reapers had two big wins over the weekend in exhibition play against the West Kootenay Timberwolves from Castlegar.

Junior Lacrosse

It was just exhibition, but the North Okanagan Reapers are finding their groove in the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League (TOJLL).

The Reapers won both weekend exhibition tilts against Castlegar's West Kootenay Timberwolves. Game one, on Saturday, May 3, was an emphatic 16-8 victory at Armstrong's Sunbelt Sports Centre.

Led by Zack Milne's five goals and two assists, the Reapers outscored the Timberwolves 12-2 in the final two periods.  Koenn Mahar-Robins and Kal Bonneau each scored twice, while Colten Colmorgen added a goal and four helpers.

Game two on Sunday, also in Armstrong, was more of the same from the Reapers, as they won 11-3.

Next up is another bout at home, this time against the Kamloops Venom on Wednesday, May 7.

Senior Lacrosse

The defending champions in the Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League (TOSLL) are finally in the win column this season. The Armstrong Shamrocks demolished the Vernon Tigers, in front of a hearty Armstrong crowd, 18-3 on Friday night to move to 1-1 in the young season.

The loss was the second straight for the Tigers (0-2), and they finally got onto the scoreboard this season, after being shut out 17-0 in their opening game.

Next up, Vernon will battle the top-ranked Kelowna Raiders on Friday, May 9. The Shamrocks will stay at home and play host to the Kamloops Rattlers on Friday. The two teams played a barn-burner a week ago, with the Rattlers coming out on top 12-11.
