The hustle doesn't stop for longtime basketball coach Dale Olson.
Now in its 40th year, the Hoops and Hustle basketball camp run by Olson will once again be returning to the Vernon courts, this time from June 30 to July 3 at Clarence Fulton Secondary.
Hosted at Clarence Fulton, boys and girls from Grade 4-11 are encouraged to sign up to test their skills at one of the best fundamentals camps in the province.
"Over the years, we have attempted to bring in the best master teachers available, and as a result, our camp has been instructed by head coaches from Gonzaga, UBC, SFU, UVIC, Eastern Washington, Whitworth and Seattle Pacific University," said Olson, who was a former university player at Victoria. "The results have been phenomenal as many provincial-level players have emerged from this camp."
Participants will receive two clinics and one game per day.
The college camp (Grade 3-7 in Sept. 2025) will go from 8:30 a.m.- noon each day while the pro camp (Grades 8-11 in Sept. 2025) will run from 1- 5 p.m.
"Hoops and Hustle is known for making its participants better players by developing a solid base of fundamentals from our outstanding coaching staff," said Olson. "Our staff is composed of local high school coaches and Spencer McKay."
McKay is a former Canadian university basketball coach and a former Canadian International and professional basketball player who currently runs the Lake City Hoops program in Penticton.
Cost of the camp is $175. If interested, contact Olson at 250-550-4105 or dolson@sd22.bc.ca.
