The 2018 golf season ended with a flurry of excitement, which is a whole lot better than a flurry of snow.
The weather co-operated one more time and the day was bright, although a wee bit chilly at the end.
Sunday was the annual club championship, won by Louise Lodge with a fantastic score of 95.
Low net winner with a score of 101 and a net of 70 was Deb Legaree. Susan Mitchell won the deuce pot.
The ladies who won pin placements were Louise Lodge (2), Trudy Forsythe (3), Vicki Hoffer, Deb Rainer, Deb Legaree (2), Evelyn Lucas, Susan Mitchell and Doreen Landry.
The other five ladies that took part simply contributed to the prizes. Not a new experience for me. I am not complaining though because I did have a great time and enjoyed the fantastic dinner after.
The biggest excitement of the week came at our final Ladies’ Night on Sept. 11.
Vicki Hoffer scored a hole-in-one. I don’t think I have ever witnessed a finer happy dance. Hoffer walked away with the $250 pot, an original watercolour painting by local artist Bob Stirling, a weed-eater from Barriere Auto Parts and a one-night stay at Alpine Meadows Resort.
Flight 1 winners were Janice Advent (low gross - 41) and Susan Newberry (low net - 44 (30.5). Flight 2 low gross winner was Vicki Hoffer with a 48 and the low net winner was Deb Rainer with a 51 (35). In Flight
