A wildfire discovered just after 10 a.m. west of the power lines at Esler near Williams Lake is considered under control.
BC Wildfire Services personnel are actioning the fire and it remains spot-sized as of 1:25 p.m. on Monday, July 10.
The small fire is believed to have been caused by lightning, as hot, dry conditions bring more such fires to light, after storms went through the region over the weekend.
Smoky conditions persist due to large wildfires in the north of both B. C. and Alberta.
