A prohibited driver was arrested after driving by police east of Sicamous on Tuesday, July 23, 204

A man already prohibited from driving was arrested after driving by police emergency equipment along Highway 1 east of Sicamous.

Police made the arrest on Tuesday, July 23, after the man, driving an orange Arctic Cat quad, failed to stop for police along Oxbow Frontage Road in Malakwa.

"The driver ignored police emergency equipment and continued driving," said Sicamous RCMP Sgt. Murray McNeil in a media release.

Police followed the quad and located it at a Delaney Road residence. After the driver was arrested it was determined he was prohibited from driving in B.C. The quad was impounded for seven days and the man has a September court date in relation to the driving prohibition and failing to stop for police.
