7Song, a herbalist and teacher from New York, will offer a one-day workshop in Summerland in early July.

A herbalist and teacher will offer a one-day workshop in Summerland on July 6.

7Song, a clinical herbalist and teacher based in Ithaca, New York, will present a 90-minute morning herb walk from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by an afternoon lecture from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Summerland branch of the Okanagan Regional Library.

The lecture is titled, Herbal Protocols for Stress and Anxiety.

Tickets for the workshops are $30 for the lecture or plant walk and $50 for both. The plant walk is limited to 25 people and the lecture is limited to 50 participants.

Organizers say no one will be turned away because of lack of funds.

This one-day event follows the Kootenay Herb Conference June 27 through 30 in the Slocan Valley, where 7song will be the keynote speaker and presenting a workshop on Herbal Medicine and Disaster Relief.

7Song is the founder, director and main teacher at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, which he started in 1994. He is also one of the founders and a clinical herbalist at the Ithaca Free Clinic.

He has been involved in first aid stations for more than 40 years.
