Clearwater emergency closed overnight on July 29

Interior Health said the closure is due to limited staffing

Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital Emergency Department will be closed overnight Friday, July 29 due to limited staffing.

Interior Health said the “diversion” will occur from 6 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.

“Interior Health regrets this temporary change to normal operations,” it said in a news release.

The Health Authority if an emergency occurs during these hours, residents should call 911 or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 (24-hour service) if they are unsure of their need to seek emergency care.

They can also visit the emergency department at Royal Inland Hospital – 311 Columbia St.
