Man killed in daylight shooting at Surrey office

One person dead after commercial building shooting

A shooting in broad daylight on Wednesday afternoon is now under investigation by IHIT as one person has died.

A shooting occurred in the 15900-block of 84 Avenue in the Fleetwood area of Surrey around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday (June 11), Surrey Police have confirmed, while a Black Press freelance photographer reported it taking place inside a commercial building in the area.

RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit were on scene investigating the shooting after receiving reports and located one man with life-threatening injuries. The man succumbed to his injuries on scene despite life-saving measures by first responders.

With this now being Surrey's third murder of 2025, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating.

While in its very early stages, Surrey Police state this homicide does not seem to be linked to any ongoing files but the motive remains unknown.
