BC SPCA offers free spay/neuter clinic for feral cats in Kamloops

The BC SPCA’s Spay/Neuter Clinic in Kamloops is holding a free clinic

The BC SPCA’s Spay/Neuter Clinic in Kamloops is holding a free clinic on Wednesday, March 22 to help reduce the suffering of feral cats in the region. The SPCA hopes the free event will bring in up to 50 feral cats for free spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and deworming.

“The overpopulation of cats is a huge welfare issue right across B.C. and we know that tens of thousands of cats live outdoors and face intolerable suffering because of disease, predation and starvation,” says the clinic’s administrator Vivian Van Dorne. “Sterilizing feral cats – ownerless cats who are born out of captivity and without human socialization - is a key step to ending the cycle of suffering that is happening in Kamloops and in communities across the province.”

Any individuals or groups caring for feral cats in Kamloops and surrounding areas are invited to make an appointment for the free clinic by calling 250-376-6055 or by email at kamloopsclinic@spca.bc.ca. The BC SPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic is located at 391A Tranquille Road, Kamloops.
