Update;
Riske Creek's junior steer rider Tanner Loring secured second place overall at the Calgary Stampede.
For his ride Saturday, he got 74.5.
"There are no words to explain how proud we are of him," his mom Shelly Howarth Loring said on Facebook Saturday. "This is a dream come true for him... He handled the pressure so well! He made some new friends and had a blast with the other steer riders!!"
Friday:
Riske Creek's own Tanner Loring notched third place in junior steering riding Friday, July 11 at the Calgary Stampede which means he will compete again on Saturday for a third round.
He scored 70.0, behind Cecil Baynton's 72 and Rex Curtis's 77.5.
"Tanner was happy that he drew that cow," Tanner's mom Shelly Howarth Lowring told the Tribune Friday. "He told us that he knew for a fact he was gonna ride that cow and he was very happy with the outcome."
On Thursday, he split 5th/6th place with Jax Torkelson - each with a score of 67.5.
The 15-year-old was only two when he got on his first cow at his father, Hugh Loring's, steer riding school. Ever since he could understand he wanted to ride at the Calgary Stampede.
