A water quality advisory has been issued for an area of Vernon.
Greater Vernon Water said a planned water disruption took place today, Aug. 1, for 24th Avenue between addresses 2401B 39th Street and 3601 24th Avenue, including 3610 25th Avenue and 36th Street south of 24th Avenue.
In conjunction with Interior Health, Greater Vernon Water has placed the above area on a water quality advisory until Sunday, Aug. 4, at 5 p.m. without further notice from the Regional District of North Okanagan. A map of the affected area can be seen above.
Upon water being restored, customers may have experienced reduced water pressure, water discoloration and/or air. They are advised to run a cold water tap until the water has cleared, preferably an outside tap.
During the water quality advisory period, very young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems are advised to exercise caution by boiling their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.
